Warriors' Stephen Curry: Voting LeBron for MVP?

The media still decides the NBA's MVP each season, but that doesn't mean the players themselves don't have their own opinions on who is the best of the best.

Stephen Curry made an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday, and the host made sure to ask the 27-year-old point guard which player he favors for the MVP award at this point in the season. Curry, who has led the Golden State Warriors to an NBA-best 53-13 record, has as strong a case as anyone for the league's highest individual honor (and admitted he would vote for himself if he had the chance), but Patrick offered the caveat that Curry could not vote for himself —€” or teammate Klay Thompson.

After a lengthy delay, "This year, I'd probably vote for LeBron," Curry said, adding that the four-time MVP is "one of the most talented guys on the face of the planet."

It's not surprising Curry would shy away from showering praise on the two other MVP frontrunners, James Harden and Russell Westbrook, as the Warriors are on a collision course with either Harden's Houston Rockets or Westbrook's Oklahoma City Thunder (or both) in the playoffs. And there has certainly been no love lost between Warriors and Rockets brass on the MVP race:

This should be quite the subplot down the stretch of the NBA season.
