Tony Allen: Steph Curry 'ain't nothing I ain't never seen before'

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry was named the NBA's MVP yesterday, and when Grizzlies guard Tony Allen was asked what makes the three-point shooting specialist so dangerous, he bristled at the question.

Here's what Allen said, according to CSN Bay Area reporter Nate Stuhlbarg:

"I don't get a vote, but I acknowledge his MVP status. It's well deserved, I wasn't surprised. He can shoot the ball pretty good and he got a nice handle. But it ain't nothing I ain't never seen before."

If said by just about anyone else in basketball, this would be viewed as bulletin board material. But Allen is his own species and knows he'll be tasked with defending Curry for much of the series; he clearly relishes the challenge.

This one-on-one match-up will be must-see television sooner than later.
