The Rockets should trade for George Hill
The Indiana Pacers have had quite a bit of success with George Hill as their starting point guard, making two straight Conference finals and deploying one of the best defenses in the league.
But the Pacers could look to take a step back next season and trade some of their veterans for future assets. If that's the case, the Houston Rockets should pounce all over Hill, who's a perfect fit beside James Harden. Here's SB Nation's Rockets blog The Dream Shake with more:
"According to ESPN's trade machine, Terrence Jones and Kostas Papanikolaou are enough to trade for the two years, $8 million remaining on Hill's deal. That alone is probably not enough to get the starting point guard for back-to-back conference finals teams, but throw in the No. 18 or a future first-round pick and now you're talking. Hill would be a better overall defender than Patrick Beverley (maybe not 1-on-1, but better in rotations and the passing lanes) and can certainly hit catch-and-shoot three-pointers. This is a tasty option, and one I hope Daryl Morey explores."
Hill can shoot threes, defend multiple positions and create a bit of offense for himself. He'd relieve some of Harden's stress, and give Houston another dimension on offense. If they choose to re-sign Patrick Beverley, all of a sudden their weakest position would be one of their deepest.
