Suns' Dragic out with right ankle sprain

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Phoenix point guard Goran Dragic sat out the Suns' game Wednesday night aginst the Utah Jazz because of a sprained right ankle.

Ish Smith started in place of Dragic, who twisted the ankle in the third quarter of a 110-101 loss to Minnesota on Tuesday night. He went to the locker room to have it re-taped, then returned and finished with 16 points in 25 minutes before fouling out.

Averaging 20.2 points and 6.2 assists, Dragic will have the ankle re-evaluated Thursday.

Fellow starting guard Eric Bledsoe has been sidelined since Jan. 2 had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee surgery Jan. 10. He has practiced three times this week and played in 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 games. The Suns have not set a date for his return.

Guard Leonardo Barbosa also is out with a sprained left big toe and center Viacheslav Kravtsov is sidelined by a sprained right ankle.
