Stanley Johnson is talking like a future Detroit Piston

All things considered, the Detroit Pistons have two primary ways to improve: Internal development, and the draft.

Stan Van Gundy's squad will have their selection fate determined in the NBA Draft Lottery tomorrow. And if they land a pick high enough, it seems pretty clear who they'll draft this June: Arizona's Stanley Johnson.

At least week's combine, Johnson talked about his interview with the Pistons, noting that he's already familiar with a few of their key pieces. Here's what he said, as reported by David Mayo of M Live:

"I know Reggie [Jackson] and I know Andre [Drummond] really well. So they told me if they drafted me, obviously, that's where the team needs help at, and I'm a really good player and I'd be able to help out in that way."

Johnson said he knows Jackson through a mutual friend, and Drummond and him go all the way back to high school days. Johnson is about as an ideal fit as can be for the Pistons in this draft, as the team is lacking at his small forward spot. He'd be a welcome addition to their bright young core, so here's to hoping Detroit gets the top-ten pick they'll likely need to land him.
