Spurs reportedly trade Boris Diaw, clearing cap space for Pau Gasol

The San Antonio Spurs dealt veteran forward Boris Diaw to the Utah Jazz for 2015 second-round pick Olivier Hanlan, The Vertical reported Tuesday.

Diaw appears to be a cap casualty to make room for Pau Gasol, who reportedly agreed to a two-year, $30 million deal with San Antonio on Monday. Diaw has spent the past 4 1/2 seasons with the Spurs, helping them win the title in 2014.

The 34-year-old versatile forward averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists last season in a reserve role with San Antonio. Diaw's ball-handling, passing and shooting made him a key contributor to the Spurs, who have won at least 50 games during his time with the franchise.
