Skiles on bringing Oladipo off Magic bench: 'No permanence to it'
It's been an interesting few days for the Orlando Magic. With the insertion of Channing Frye into the starting lineup and the move to bring Victor Oladipo off the bench, the Magic have won 3 games in a row to pull over .500 17 games into the 2015-16 season.
It's a move that's working for now. But is it going to be the normal way of things moving forward? Coach Scott Skiles told reporters that the rotation isn't set in stone, but as long as it's working, Orlando will roll with it:
So Oladipo is kind of in a weird situation. If he keeps playing well off the bench, he might continue to come off the bench. But there's probably not much equity in playing poorly as a reserve, on the other hand.
In the end, it's all about the wins. And as long as those keep piling up, it should be relatively easy for everyone to stay happy in Orlando.
"There's no permanence to it," he said.[...]
"We got to stick with what works," Skiles said. "(Oladipo) has been so good in that role. We'll keep him out there until it doesn't work."
