Russell Westbrook records most consecutive triple-doubles since Michael Jordan
Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook continues to amaze this 2016-2017 NBA campaign, and on Sunday evening vs. the New Orleans Pelicans, the MVP favorite recorded his fifth straight triple-double by collecting 28 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists in a 101-92 victory at home.
Two of those 28 points came in emphatic fashion:
Westbrook's fifth consecutive triple-double marks the longest streak since Michael Jordan's during the 1988-1989 season -- and puts Westbrook only four consecutive triple-doubles away from tying what was supposed to be the NBA's unbreakable record, held by the great Wilt Chamberlain:
'Tis the season indeed -- the Brodie Season.
Get out of his way. Russ ?! He's got 21. #OKCvsNOP pic.twitter.com/JgFqn6UUpL
