Russell Westbrook records first 50-point triple-double in NBA playoff history
After a disappointing Game 1 against the Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook came out with a vengeance in Game 2 (watch live on FOX Sports GO).
Westbrook tallied 22 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists by halftime, coming up just two rebounds shy of a triple-double in the first half. He finished with 51 points — Thunder franchise record for most points in a playoff game — 10 rebounds and 13 assists.
It's the first 50-point triple-double in NBA playoff history and just the sixth ever of 40 or more points, per Elias Sports Bureau.

Yet the second half didn't go Westbrook's way. He was just 4-for-18 in the fourth quarter as the Rockets stormed back to claim a 115-111 win and a 2-0 series lead.
Fellow MVP candidate James Harden finished with 35 points, four rebounds and eight assists.
