Report: Thunder in talks with James Borrego

The Magic ousted Jacque Vaughn and hired James Borrego as head coach midway through this season. Unfortunately, Borrego never stood much of a chance at earning the full-time coaching job. By the end, he wasn't able to wave goodbye to the "interim" label on his title.

Now, with the Magic having hired Scott Skiles, Borrego is a free agent. So, where is he headed? Well, one report says he could be going to Oklahoma City to assist for new Thunder coach Billy Donovan. From ESPN's Marc Stein:

Orlando posted a 10-20 record with Borrego at the helm.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are in talks with former Orlando Magic coach James Borrego about a spot on first-year coach Billy Donovan's staff, according to league sources.

The Thunder, sources told ESPN.com, have emerged as a potential landing spot for Borrego, who posted a 10-20 record last season as the Magic's interim coach.
