Report: Rose 'likely' to miss entire preseason; regular-season opener in question
Derrick Rose is still recovering from the orbital bone fracture he suffered during the Bulls' first practice of the season, and while it was initially believed that he'd be able to play in the regular-season opener on Oct. 27 against the Cavaliers, that now appears to be questionable, at best. On Tuesday, Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg told reporters that's Rose's status is still up in the air as the regular season looms:
Rose is back at practice, though he has yet to be cleared to participate.
Training camp and the preseason aren't always important, but for a Bulls team that has a new head coach and new system to adjust to, Rose's absence will just make things take a little longer to come together than the team anticipated.
