Report: Knicks to introduce Phil on Tuesday; Woodson ready to fight for job

As the Knicks' courtship with Phil Jackson continues to drag on, the couple may have at least finally set a wedding date.

Tuesday good for everyone?

Reports have varied as to whether Jackson has indeed agreed to take over the Knicks' basketball operations, and the latest on Thursday came from the New York Post, which went so far as to say the team is planning to introduce the 11-time championship coach on Tuesday.

And that's not all.

Speaking on ESPN Radio on Thursday, current — and embattled — Knicks coach Mike Woodson said he expects Jackson will "enhance" the Knicks once he takes over, and that when the move is official, he wants a chance to state his case to Jackson:

 

 

Woodson also claimed to be about as in the dark as the rest of us when it comes to the negotiations between the club and Jackson, and the plans for the future should a deal happen.

 

 

Among the names that have been mentioned as Jackson's possible choice as the Knicks' next head coach are Steve Kerr, a former GM with Phoenix and former player under Jackson, and Jim Cleamons, a longtime assistant under Jackson who has some NBA head-coaching experience of his own.
