Report: Kevin Durant would sign with Wizards over Heat

The Miami Heat desperately want to make a run at Kevin Durant when he hits free agency next summer. Pat Riley has a knack for recruiting star players, and Durant is tops on his list. Unfortunately for Riley and the Heat, as Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel writes, Durant is more likely to choose the Wizards than the Heat:

"One of Durant's associates in South Florida has been telling me for months that if Durant leaves the Thunder, it would be to return home to Washington."

While Miami is an attractive destination for many NBA players, Washington, D.C., is home for Durant, and home is often a much stronger pull than anything else. This doesn't mean that Durant will definitely sign with the Wizards and not re-sign with the Thunder, just that the Heat probably aren't as big a player as they'd like to be.
