Report: Former Pistons personal trainer coming to Timberwolves

The Timberwolves may have acquired some famed talent this offseason in first-overall pick Karl-Anthony Towns, but he won't be the only fantastic addition to Minnesota's 2015-16 squad. The Wolves have also brought in Arnie Kander, per NBA.com's David Aldridge.

Who is Kander? Only the former Pistons personal trainer known to be one of the best inside his profession in the NBA. Here's more from Aldridge:

This makes sense from both sides. Stan Van Gundy retained Kander last offseason, but brought in a group of, as Detroit Bad Boys called it, "his own guys" to work in a bunch of the areas Kanders usually does. A new, top-of-the-line personal trainer, meanwhile, makes tons of sense in Minnesota.

The Wolves just signed the 39-year-old and constantly breaking down Kevin Garnett to a two-year deal. Rubio constantly has injury issues. So does Nikola Pekovic. And Anthony Bennett could certainly use someone pushing him to stay in tippy top shape.

Maybe the Wolves have that guy. Maybe they don't. We'll find out eventually.

THE KEY MAN: Physicial therapist Arnie Kander. I'm hearing that Kander, who resigned in Detroit in June after 23 years there as one of the best body mechanics in the league, will be joining the Timberwolves in a new capacity in September. Kander and Minnesota Coach Flip Saunders know each other from Saunders' time as coach in Detroit, and had a great working relationship. Kander will be no doubt be tasked with figuring out how to keep Ricky Rubio in one piece going forward. Garnett will love him, too.
