Report: Earl Clark to ask Nets for his release

Earl Clark played only 10 games with the Nets after signing in Brooklyn midseason. Now, it appears his time with Lionel Hollins' squad might be over.

From The Brooklyn Game:

Clark has a contract worth about $1.2 million for next season, but the deal is non-guaranteed to start the season. Brooklyn could release him, and it would actually make sense for the team to do so.

The Nets have 17 men on the roster right now and have to get down to 15 by the start of the regular season.

In their latest offseason report, NetsDaily.com is speculating that Nets G Earl Clark will ask for release from the team to seek other opportunities.

NetsDaily reports that Clark may prefer to play overseas.

The Nets acquired Clark towards the end of last season, and then proceeded to sign him to a two-year vet minimum deal in April. He averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10 games for the team last season.
