Players to watch: Memphis Grizzlies vs. Atlanta Hawks

After a solid showing in their preseason opener, the Memphis Grizzlies look to stay hot as they host the Atlanta Hawks at the FedEx Forum.

The Memphis Grizzlies, and particularly their bench, excelled in the second half of their preseason opener against the Orlando Magic on Oct. 3, emerging 102-97 victors after a clutch 3-pointer from Wayne “can’t cut me quite yet” Selden in the closing minute of the game.

The Atlanta Hawks, who lost their star player center, Al Horford, to the Boston Celtics this past summer, make their preseason debut. However, they’ll be without several key contributors: Paul Millsap, Tiago Splitter and Jarrett Jack.

Both of the Hawks’ biggest offseason moves, the re-signing of Kent Bazemore and bringing Dwight Howard back to his hometown, will likely be in the starting lineup.

The Memphis Grizzlies’ starting shooting guard, Tony Allen, will not play due to a minor knee issue. Rookie Deyonta Davis will also not play.

Chandler Parsons is listed as being day-to-day, but was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.
