Pelicans' Perkins injured vs. Warriors
NEW ORLEANS (AP) The New Orleans Pelicans say center Kendrick Perkins has strained his right pectoral muscle during Saturday night's game against the Golden State Warriors.
The Pelicans say Perkins, who started, won't return to the game.
Perkins played the first 2:26 of the first quarter, scoring two points, before being replaced by Omer Asik. However, Asik's minutes were expected to be limited because he was playing for the first time this season after working his way back from a right calf strain. So Anthony Davis played some minutes at center, along with 7-foot-2 reserve Alexis Ajinca.
New Orleans was already without guards Tyreke Evans (right knee) and Norris Cole (left ankle sprain), as well as forward Quincy Pondexter (left knee), coming into the game.
