New York Knicks Move Past Quiet Deadline With More Questions

The drama and rumors heading into the trade deadline didn't result in any deals from the New York Knicks, leading to more questions regarding the team's uncertain future.

The big names were all on the block for the New York Knicks, but to the surprise of many nothing happened. The months leading up to Feb. 23 were filled with team president Phil Jackson openly shopping All-Star Carmelo Anthony to any team willing to listen.

After several bouts publicly and via twitter Anthony is still somehow a member of the Knicks.

Anthony gave his thoughts to reporters on if he expected to remain a Knick and his thoughts on the team's future.

The Olympic gold medalist would go on to vent his feelings regarding the mystery leading up to the trade deadline and it's effect on the team.

Anthony played well the last few games leading into his All-Star replacement selection for Kevin Love. His impact on the city is still visible in wins and losses creating attention that is very helpful for the team's young star Kristaps Porzingis.

Porzingis has been vocal in keeping Anthony and continuing to develop the front court with rookie center Willy Hernangomez. The offseason could yield more trade talk for Anthony, especially with the Knicks opponent Thursday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The other name spoke about heavily was Derrick Rose possibly heading to the Minnesota Timberwolves for point guard Ricky Rubio.

The deal was apparently pulled off the table by the T'Wolves in the final hour, leaving Knicks fans and Rose with plenty of criticism as he shared with the media. The former league MVP was very candid about his thoughts on the team offensive schemes.

The way Rose talks about the team's offense leaves little reason to believe he will re-sign with the Knicks during the offseason. His backup, Brandon Jennings, is also a free agent this summer and will probably have the same fate, as both will look to raise their stock before season's end.

The Knicks returned to the court in Cleveland to continue their losing ways, falling to LeBron James and Co.,119-104. Porzingis went down with an injury in the defeat, while guard Courtney Lee was on the receiving end of an amazing block from James.

The uncertainty and bewilderment on the faces of the Knicks' players seemed too familiar and probably sneak peek of the team's last 24 games. The team is still in search of an identity and not one person in the organization has a clue on how to fix it.

Joakim Noah, healthy or not, will continue to be a source of criticism because of his contract, while head coach Jeff Hornacek continues to run an offense that makes no one comfortable.

Jackson will continue to run the team without James Dolan's assistance and handle the free agency fallout from his unpopular actions this season regarding Anthony.

The comments made by TNT analyst and Hall of Famer Charles Barkley summed up the franchise's ridiculous problems.
