Nets sign veteran F Childress
The Brooklyn Nets have signed veteran forward Josh Childress.
Nets general manager Billy King announced the signing Thursday. While terms were not disclosed, Childress got a one-year, non-guaranteed contract.
The 29-year-old Childress averaged 2.9 points and 2.8 rebounds in 34 games with Phoenix last season. The fourth pick overall in the 2004 draft out of Stanford has career averages of 9.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 373 career games with Atlanta and Phoenix. He also spent two seasons in Greece, starting in 2008.
The signing comes a day after the Nets announced they had inked free-agent forward Andray Blatche.
