Nets rookie F Damion James out with sore foot

New Jersey rookie forward Damion James was expected to miss the Nets' game with the Indiana Pacers on Monday night with a sore right foot.

Coach Avery Johnson says the starting small forward had some tenderness in the foot and will be evaluated by team doctors later Monday night. The Texas product missed 34 games after breaking the foot in December.

James insisted nothing is seriously wrong with the foot, and he is being held out as a precaution. He said he had ''blood'' treatment on the foot recently and it is tender when he moves sometimes.

James is averaging 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds in 25 games, including nine starts.

Johnson also said that point guard Ben Uzoh will be recalled from Springfield, Mass. of the D-League on Wednesday.
