NBA Rumors: LaMarcus Aldridge Dispels Rumors; Says He's Happy In SA

NBA Rumors: Contrary to rumors flying around, LaMarcus Aldridge says that he’s happy being a member of the San Antonio Spurs

LaMarcus Aldridge is unhappy. Just not with the San Antonio Spurs.

What he is unhappy about is the rumors that have been flying around recently, stating that he could be moved before the end of the 2016-17 season – the same ones that suggest that he’s unhappy with his role.

To dispel those rumors, Aldridge told The Jim Rome Show that he doesn’t “buy into” the rumors and that he’s “happy” in San Antonio.

After all, why wouldn’t he be happy? The Spurs are fresh off their best regular season in franchise history.

“I didn’t buy into it. I haven’t heard anything about it. I talked to Pop (head coach Gregg Popovich) daily and he’s always telling me that I’m doing great,” Aldridge said. “Trying to be a more of a leader. He’s put me in positions where I can be more of a leader. As long as the guys here aren’t saying bad things to me. All my teammates have said nothing but great things to me.”

“Yeah for sure I am (happy in San Antonio). We made history last year. They’ve incorporated me into the family. Try to make me one of the big pieces.”

“I’m winning. Of course I’m happy. That’s why I don’t buy into the rumors. I feel like I do my job here and I feel like I’ve done everything that they’ve asked. That’s why I haven’t bought into the rumors.”

The rumor of Aldridge’s unhappiness in San Antonio and potential trade stemmed from Sports Personality Jackie MacMullan, who noted that her sources were informing her that Aldridge might not finish the year in a Spurs jersey.

She also added that there’s definitely “some stuff going on maybe”.

As expected, those words took off among the NBA circuit and made their way to Aldridge and the Spurs. Predictably, they’ve now been shot down.

Hopefully, Aldridge is happy with his role on the Spurs. After all, if Aldridge can’t make it work in San Antonio, where can he?
