Mac McClung becomes first G-League player in NBA Dunk Contest
Delaware Blue Coats guard Mac McClung will bring his high-flying acrobatics to this year's NBA Dunk Contest, The Athletic announced Friday.
McClung's is the first G-League player ever incorporated in the annual contest. Rockets' guard KJ Martin and Trail Blazers' rookie Shaedon Sharpe have also been announced as participants, which leaves one more slot.
McClung, a hyper-athletic 6'2 guard who has made stops at Georgetown and Texas Tech, has been a prominent name in basketball circles since his high school mixtapes began to make the rounds on social media.
And boy, were they electrifying.
McClung went undrafted after turning pro in 2021, and was signed by the South Bay Lakers in August 2021. He latched on with the Chicago Bulls on a pair of 10-day contracts in early 2022, before returning to the Lakers' organization in April. He joined the 76ers' organization in October 2022.
