Monty Williams told team to foul before Stephen Curry's shot
In Game 3, the Pelicans held a three-point lead with just a few seconds left in regulation. Facing one of the best three-point shooting teams in NBA history, common sense says New Orleans should've fouled as soon as possible, sending Golden State to the free-throw line and eliminating the possibility of a big play.
Obviously, that's not how things went down, as Stephen Curry sent the game to overtime with one of the most amazing corner threes you'll ever see.

But there's video evidence, courtesy of Larry Brown Sports, that Pelicans head coach Monty Williams wanted his team to foul. None of it matters now, but plays like this are exactly why people always talk about how important "experience" can be to get through big spots.
This is a great example.
