Michelle Obama gives Steph Curry trash-talking advice

Stephen Curry was on “The Ellen Show” with First Lady Michelle Obama. The FLOTUS gave Curry some advice on how to talk trash to her husband.

Stephen Curry is pretty mild-mannered–at least, off the court. When he steps onto the hardwood, he’s a different animal. He’s as arrogant as they come. But still, he does it in his own unique way.

He’s no Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett. He’s not the type of player to use his voice to intimidate or ridicule players. He doesn’t direct anything at players. He just lives in his own bubble where he enjoys having fun. He likes to turn around when the shot is in the air and shimmy and hold up seven fingers to fans.

Curry could use some work on his trash-talking game. Luckily, he has some pretty powerful friends that can give him some tips. The two-time MVP was on The Ellen Show with First Lady Michelle Obama. And she told him what to tell him.

Curry was telling Ellen DeGeneres about golfing with the President. He admitted that he’s lost to the commander-in-chief the last two times they’ve gone to play together. The FLOTUS chimed in with a question, asking the superstar if her husband trash talks.

He was quick to answer yes and described it. Curry said that President Obama’s trash-talking is very smooth. And it gets under his opponents’ skin. The FLOTUS told him he should talk back. And gave him great advice.

“Talk about his ears…If you’re putting, you got to say ‘the shadow from your ears is messing up my putt. Try that one!”

She added that that is truly what trash-talking is about. Curry laughed it off. Then told her that if he tried, he’d give the Secret Service the nod and he’d disappear.

Curry and Mrs. Obama went on to talk about their partnership and a project that they’re working on. They’re working on an initiative (with Brita) called “Drink Up” which encourages young kids to drink more water and it tries to find a way to get cheaper, more accessible clean water to people everywhere.
