Metta World says the Lakers blow leads because they have 'fish brains'

Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace has always had a way with words and analogies, and his latest comments live up to his infamous reputation.

“Some of the guys forgot how we got the lead, kind of like a fish,” he said. “You know how fish dig their thing in 30 second intervals? Then run into a mirror. Then they go, ‘Oh, that hurt…’ Sometimes we forget and the fish brain comes out. Maybe they ate too much sushi. Maybe they should just stick to the red meat. Maybe just be vegan.”

In a recent story by The Wall Street Journal, World Peace made an interesting comparison between the Lakers and fish in relation to the team inexplicably giving up leads in games:

That is, umm, quite the comparison. That's what's been holding the Lakers back this whole time -- their diet.

World Peace has matured in recent years, cooling down his temper and working to help spread mental awareness and mentor younger NBA players. But he's still a little wacky, and still capable of bizarre quips like these.
