Metta (aka The Panda's Friend): I will toss panda heads, find my Friend of the Day
When Metta World Peace (formerly Ron Artest) announced to the world he was going to play basketball in China, we knew it would be gold. He proved that suspicion correct in August when he announced he would change his name to "The Panda’s Friend" for his career with the Sichuan Blue Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association.
And he did it again a couple weeks later, when the former World Peace played his first game as The Panda’s Friend in a Venice Beach pick-up game . . . dressed as a Panda.
But on Monday, TPF upped the ante, and perhaps introduced the next game-changer in sports apparel.

Wait. Before you shout, “Are those basketball shoes with panda heads on the top?!?!?!” . . .
No. Those are basketball shoes with detachable panda heads on the top.
From Metta, via courtsideaccess.com:
Of course, this is Metta World Peace, and after courtside published its story, it posted this note:
So it sounds like they aren’t supposed to be detachable, but they will be once Metta is done with them. Or his previous statement to courtside is all BS.
Guess we’ll have to stay tuned to find out.
