Melo promises 'no banana boats' next time he hangs with LeBron and CP3

Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Paul are close friends off the court, and enjoy spending time together as a group whenever the opportunity presents itself.

They vacationed together over the summer, and provided us with one of the funnier photos of the NBA offseason which featured James, Wade and Paul riding a banana boat together before Anthony arrived.

The players were well aware of the uproar that this picture caused, and Paul in particular seemed tickled by the whole thing, to the point where he tweeted about it during the hilarious, emoji-filled DeAndre Jordan free agency saga. And, Paul was even seen wearing a t-shirt which commemorated the somewhat silly occasion.

Fast forward to this weekend, when James, Anthony and Paul will all be in L.A. at the same time thanks to the Knicks and Cavaliers having contests scheduled against the Lakers and the Clippers. Anthony was asked if he and his friends would get the chance to hang, and he used the opportunity to reference the banana boat incident.

“We might [get together], but no banana boats,’’ Anthony joked, via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “We’ll see if the schedule permits.’’
