Marc Gasol named No. 1 center for NBA 2K16

At some point in the last 15 years, NBA 2K passed NBA Live as basketball's most popular video game. And Marc Gasol is now standing atop it, at least among the league's best centers.

The official NBA 2K16 Twitter account floated this tweet out Monday:

Interesting. Gasol tied with DeMarcus Cousins for first among NBA centers with an 87 overall rating. 

It'll be even more interesting to see how their breakdowns differ. You have to imagine Gasol's 87 is boosted a bunch by his defense, though he had the best offensive and scoring year of his career last season. The digital version of Cousins, one would presume, is a more offensive-minded player.

Because of that, Cousins may actually be the better performer if you're playing against your buddies. After all, who actually cares about defense in video games?
