Magic's Carter out vs. Heat with injury
Orlando Magic shooting guard Vince Carter is inactive against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night after he sprained his left knee.
Magic coach Stan Van Gundy says J.J. Redick will start in Carter's place.
Carter was injured in the Magic's 106-97 loss at San Antonio on Monday night. In the fourth quarter, Carter made a spin move and layup but his left leg landed awkwardly. He limped off the floor and did not return.
The team says an MRI on Carter's left knee showed no significant damage. He was diagnosed with a sprain. There is no timetable for Carter's return.
