LeBron's jersey from Game 1 and 2 of the Finals sold for $46K

Following one of the more impressive Finals performances in the history of the NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers point-forward LeBron James’ game-worn jersey from Game 1 and Game 2 of the Finals was sold on Friday for $46,000, ESPN's Darren Rovell reports.

James championship performance included video game-like numbers, almost averaging a triple-double during the six game series – 30.1 points, 11.3 boards, and 8.5 assists.

But James won't make a single penny off the sale. According to Rovell, players do not get any money when the NBA sells a game-used jersey. Rather, the game-used jersey sales factor into other income.

Obviously, this jersey would have been worth a lot more had the Cavaliers beat the Warriors to win the championship, but a LeBron jersey is a LeBron jersey. People will do whatever they can (or in this case, pay whatever they need to pay), in order to get a “piece” of James forever.
