LeBron James still 'in a little funk right now' over Finals loss to Warriors

The Golden State Warriors celebrated their first title in 40 years during a championship parade with fans Friday. But while the champagne has dried and the confetti has been cleaned from the Warriors' party, LeBron James is still reeling from his fourth Finals loss.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star, who became the first player in Finals history to lead both teams in points, rebounds and assists, said that he's still "in a little funk right now" four days after the Warriors won the series 4-2.

"It hurt to lose, and I'm still in a little funk right now, but I'm trying to work my way out of it," James said in a Bleacher Report video posted Saturday.

But despite the pain, James saw growth in the short-handed Cavaliers, who were playing without injured stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love for parts of the playoffs and the final five games of the Finals.

"You know, for a team that's first getting together, in our first year to be able to reach the Finals — not saying I'm happy with the results, but I'm proud of our guys," James said. "Just the growth that they had from the first day we walked in the gym to the other day, us losing, I'm proud of the guys and what they was able to accomplish.

"Being back home is everything that I dreamed of, everything that I thought about. "Being back with these fans, being back with this community, just being back here and trying to bring joy to this city, which deserves it. Bringing a sense of pride to this city, which deserves it. Giving this city something to talk about, which they deserve."

With their first Finals appearance since 2007, James is eager to get back to his sixth consecutive Finals appearance.

"Hopefully I can put our team in position once again to try to compete for a championship next year and year in and year out," he said. "That's my goal, and my inspiration hasn't changed."
