LeBron James on Heat: 'They're going to be a contender'
The health of Chris Bosh and the departure of LeBron James, along with a number of other injuries and stops and starts, limited what the Miami Heat were able to accomplish in 2014-15. But from what he said on Bleacher Report Radio on Sunday, James doesn't seem to expect the Heat to be down and out once again next season.
"They're going to be a contender," James said about Miami, via Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel. "I think Miami is doing some great things," James added. "They drafted the kid out of Duke, Justise. I think he's going to be a really good player. They've added some big pieces. They signed Amare, I saw that. And Gerald Green is a big piece, I think, as well, coming from Phoenix.
"And the re-signing of Dragic, and C-B coming back, one of my good friends, he's coming back off of injury, and by getting D-Wade back, they're going to be a contender."
July is probably a little early to start booking plans for a deep playoff run for the Heat, but one can see why James would be bullish on Miami's postseason prospects for next season. Essentially everything went right for the Heat this offseason; if the team is healthy and on the same page in 2015-16, the East will once again have its hands full with Miami.
