Lakers vs Kings Preview and Prediction: Can LA Scare Off the Boogie Man?

The Lakers have a chance to end their six-game losing streak in Sacramento with a few able bodies on the roster.

If the Lakers lose tonight, all hell will break lose. Even if they win, things might go down. You never know with a team that has Ty Lawson, Matt Barnes and DeMarcus Cousins on the roster.

The Kings are coming off of a 20-point blowout to the Utah Jazz, so they should be well rested. The Lake Show, however, played a game that came down to the wire last night against the Sacramento Kings.

While they did lose, their offense looked the best it had looked in weeks. That had everything to do with D’Angelo Russell and Nick Young returning to the starting lineup. Their defense was a different story.

Derrick Rose had his way with LA’s defense last night, piling on 25 points in New York’s 118-112 win. Not even the bench mob could save the Lakers this time.

With playoff hopes slowly dwindling, the baby Lakers desperately need a win tonight. Here’s where to catch tonight’s action:

    Prediction

They have to win tonight, right? The Kings are on the brink of a losing streak themselves, having lost their last two games. If the past few seasons haven’t been concrete evidence, it is now clear that DeMarcus Cousins can’t do it on his own.

Tonight, Boogie will have to get through Mozgov and his fellow Kentucky Wildcat, Julius Randle. LA has  a favorable schedule coming up, starting in Sacramento. This is a game they should win. After this, they head too Brooklyn and then to Philadelphia.

In other words, they have a chance to not only snap their losing streak, but they have a legitimate chance of going on a little run.

Let’s hope they see it that way too.
