Lakers have yet to schedule a pre-draft workout with Ben Simmons
The Lakers ended up with the No. 2 overall pick in this summer's NBA Draft, and in a class where most believe there are only two clear-cut stars, after the Sixers select Ben Simmons or Brandon Ingram with the top pick, L.A. is expected to land whoever is left.
Philadelphia has yet to go on record with its choice, but it's widely expected to be Simmons. And the Lakers may be feeling that's the case, too, as evidenced by the fact that they haven't yet bothered to schedule Simmons for an individual workout with the draft a little more than just two weeks away.
Ingram, however, (via Brad Turner of the L.A. Times) will be coming in to meet with the team later this week.
It could be that the Lakers know something, or it could just be that they haven't yet been able to lock down an agreeable date with Simmons. But it does seem likely that Ingram will be their choice at No. 2, as long as no red flags are raised during this week's meetings.
