Knicks' Woodson denies contract talks

Interim coach Mike Woodson says he is focused on trying to extend the New York Knicks' season and hasn't talked to team management about his future.

Woodson says he's sure they will meet after the season, but this isn't the time with the Knicks trailing 3-1 against Miami in the first round of the playoffs.

Woodson led the Knicks to an 18-6 record after replacing Mike D'Antoni on March 14. Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan said at the time the coaching position would be evaluated after the season.

However, the Daily News of New York reported Tuesday that the Knicks had begun discussions with Woodson about a long-term deal. Woodson denies talks have taken place and the Knicks had no comment.
