Knicks waive Ewing, exercise options

The New York Knicks have waived forward Patrick Ewing Jr.

Ewing, the son of the former Knicks star center, averaged 1.8 points and 6.0 minutes in four preaseason games for New York.

The Knicks also exercised their options on the contracts of Danilo Gallinari, Anthony Randolph and Toney Douglas.

Gallinari, a 6-foot-10 forward, was taken sixth in the 2008 draft. He has averaged 12.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in his first two seasons.

Randolph came to New York in a trade with Golden State in July, and Douglas was acquired in a draft-day trade with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009.
