Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis would prefer not to be called the Zinger

Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis is off to a sensational start to his career in New York. And although Knicks fans have embraced the 20-year-old Latvian, Porzingis does have one request of his fans.

Don't call him the "Zinger."

"I don’t like Zinger too much," Porzingis said via the New York Daily News, explaining it came from his American coach in Spain Scott Roth. "He started calling me Zinger, and it was just like, yeah. He was a good coach and I liked him, but that nickname, at that moment, I didn’t like it that much."

Apparently, Porzingis would prefer for his nickname to simply be "K.P."

Porzingis is off to a stellar start to his NBA career. Through 12 games, Porzingis is averaging 12.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks for a Knicks team that is looking to bounce back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
