Knicks rookie Jerian Grant lost a bet to his brother, 76ers forward Jerami
Any natural set of brothers is bound to get competitive. Now, imagine how intense that competition gets when both siblings work in the same industry, one which just so happens to be the NBA.
Yep, they're going to go at each other. 76ers second-year forward Jerami Grant and Knicks rookie guard Jerian Grant are no exception to that rule.
The two bros had a bet as Jerian, a Notre Dame alum, entered the league this past June. Here's more from Marc Berman of the New York Post:
It's obviously all in good fun, and Berman goes on to write about how happy the two brothers are for each other. Now, I just want to know how much that wager was for.
Before June’s NBA draft, Sixers small forward Jerami Grant bet his brother Jerian a substantial sum that he wouldn’t get picked higher than Jerami did — No. 39 in 2014.
It wasn’t close. Jerian, a Notre Dame senior, was taken 19th by the Hawks, knowing they’d be trading his rights to the Knicks for Tim Hardaway Jr.
“I’m giving him some time to pay it,’’ Jerian said.
“I’ll pay him for sure,’’ Jerami added.
