Kings offer free tattoos of their new logo and fans line up in droves

The Sacramento Kings underwent a big change on Tuesday when the team unveiled its new logos. It's an effort to rebrand the franchise, and it was received fairly well -- inside and outside of the team's fanbase.

As an added bonus, the Kings offered to pay for fans to get tattoos of their new logos for one day only on Wednesday at five parlors in the area. Well, fans almost never turn down free stuff, so the lines were as long as you would expect.

The tattoos were paid for on a first-come, first-serve basis, so not every fan will get one for free. One supporter was so pumped about the logo change that he couldn't even wait until Wednesday to get it inked (for free) on his body.

This is by far one of the strangest "giveaways" in sports, but it's a good way to lock up longtime fans. And it's clearly working.
