Kings' Cousins: Fan vote 'definitely' should not decide All-Star game

Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins has been arguably one of the best players in the Western Conference this season. However, he was not voted as a starter in the All-Star game.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Cousins isn't exactly thrilled with how the NBA decides which players will represent their conferences in the upcoming All-Star game. In the report, Cousins calls the system (three frontcourt players, two guards) "disrespectful to big men" and added that it's "really not fair."

Cousins, who was named Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday, said he'd make a fairly significant change to how the All-Star game is currently set up.

The NBA will announce the seven West All-Star reserves on Thursday. That decision is left to a vote by the league's coaches. Two guards, three frontcourt players and two wild cards will make the cut.

“I’m comfortable with the coaches picking and I believe they will make the right choice," Cousins told Yahoo. "They are more aware and more knowledgeable of who is an All-Star in this game.”
