Kendrick Lamar narrates goodbye video to Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce only spent two seasons with the Clippers but that can’t measure his status in Los Angeles.

As a native of Inglewood, Pierce is just as beloved in the L.A. area as he is in Kansas or Boston. To say goodbye to the retiring NBA star, the Clippers put together a video tribute voiced by Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The video traces Pierce’s path from Southern California to the NBA, and even includes a few shoutouts from his fellow NBA stars.

Pierce, 39, played 19 seasons in the NBA with the Celtics, Nets, Wizards and Clippers. His career ended with Los Angeles’s Game 7 loss to the Jazz.
