John Oliver made a joke about Jonny Flynn on HBO

Jonny Flynn was always smiling. I bet he was the only one who didn't laugh at John Oliver's dig at him Sunday night on Oliver's HBO show, Last Week Tonight.

Oliver, a comedian or political commentator depending on how you view him, has spent the past few episodes setting up an on-air church to poke at TV evangelists who ask for "seed money" to finance their shows and personal lives. So, people have taken to sending him mostly money, but also...well, some pretty weird stuff.

That weird stuff included 12 Timberwolves bobblehead dolls of none other than, as Oliver described, "12 bobbleheads of Minnesota Timberwolves flameout Jonny Flynn, which, let's be honest, is 11 too many."

His sketch wife Wanda Jo, played by former Saturday Night Live cast member Rachel Dratch, came back with, "The T'Wolves had Ricky Rubio. What'd they need another point guard for?"

"That's a solid basketball point, Wanda" quipped Oliver.

The Timberwolves drafted Jonny Flynn sixth overall back in 2009, one pick after selecting Ricky Rubio. Flynn, though, was out of Minnesota by 2011 and out of the NBA altogether by the end of 2012.

I'm sure basketball fans enjoyed it—except for maybe Jonny Flynn and Jim Boeheim. I'm not sure if they did.
