Jeremy Lin donates $1 million to Harvard

Brooklyn Nets point guard and 2010 Harvard University graduate Jeremy Lin has pledged a $1 million gift that will be used to renovate the school's basketball arena and for undergraduate financial aid, Bloomberg reports.

Since bursting onto the national radar with an unexpected scoring spree dubbed "Linsanity" with the New York Knicks in February 2012, he's played starter minutes for the Rockets, Lakers, Hornets and now the Nets. In July, the 28-year-old singed a three-year contract with the Nets worth $38 million guaranteed.

The three-time All-Ivy selection at Harvard credits his time at the school with helping him become successful on and off the court.

Seven U.S. presidents hold degrees from Harvard, and the school has produced myriad successful people, but how many have had their name accidentally tattooed on a stranger's leg? That's right, probably only Jeremy Lin.
