Jazz big man Favors out vs. Pelicans

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Utah coach Quinn Snyder says Derrick Favors' sprained right ankle will sideline him for a second straight game.

Favors' injury occurred last Friday night against Miami and he was unable to play in Utah's 93-84 loss on Sunday in Washington.

The 6-foot-10 Favors has been playing both center and forward, averaging 15.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.

Snyder says Rudy Gobert will start at center on Tuesday night at New Orleans. The 7-1 Gobert has averaged 5.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 17.1 minutes per game this season.

Snyder says he would prefer to have Favors in the lineup, but adds that he hopes Gobert and power forward Jeremy Evans can take advantage of their opportunity to improve.
