Jason Day hits two horrendous bunker shots on nightmare hole

World No. 1 Jason Day had to wait until Friday to play his first round at Oakmont, and he posted a 4-over par 39 through his first nine holes in the U.S. Open. Day began his round by missing the first fairway and carding a bogey, but he could be regretting his third shot on the par-4 seventh hole for the rest of the week.

Day found the fairway off the tee, but his his approach into a greenside bunker. He blasted his third shot over the flag and into a bunker on the other side of the green, then hit a weak fourth shot that hit the side of a bank and rolled back down toward his feet.

Lying five in the bunker with not much green to work with, Day hit a spectacular fifth shot and managed to get up-and-down for a double bogey.
