Hassan Whiteside on injured knee: 'I really feel like I can't really do anything'

Hassan Whiteside already missed Monday's overtime victory over the Pacers because of a knee injury. Judging from how he says he feels right now, he might be missing even more time in the future.

Whiteside may have been listed as a game-time decision for Monday's contest, but that seemed to be only in name, not in use. From Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald:

"It's just a lot of soreness right now," Whiteside said. "I really feel like I can't really do anything as far as running or jumping or anything."

Although Whiteside said he doesn't think it's going to be a long-term issue he also said he's not really sure what the extent of the injury is or if he'll need an MRI.

Whiteside is still unsure exactly how he hurt his right knee, but the injury is going to have a clear effect on Miami's upcoming schedule if he's forced to sit. The Heat play Wednesday at home, but after that, they welcome one of the roughest stretches on the schedule this season.

Miami has played a disproportionate amount of home games so far this year. The upcoming slate, when the Heat play 14 of their 16 following games after the Knicks one on the road, is where it makes up for that. If Whiteside is on the sidelines, that's only going to hurt the team more.
