Grizzlies' Wright to have knee surgery; no timetable for return
CHICAGO -- Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandan Wright will have surgery on his right knee.
The team said the operation is scheduled for Thursday. A timetable for his return has not been set.
Wright has not played since Nov. 7, when he left a game against Utah because of soreness in his knee. He is averaging 6.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in seven games.
Drafted eighth overall in 2007, the former North Carolina player has averaged 7.1 points on 60.6 percent shooting and 3.7 rebounds for Golden State, New Jersey, Dallas, Boston, Phoenix and Memphis.
The Grizzlies played the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night.
