Garnett misses game due to back spasms

MILWAUKEE (AP) Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett was held out of the team's game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night because of back spasms.

The veteran forward has missed six games to rest, but this was only the second game that he has not played due to injury.

Brooklyn coach Jason Kidd said Garnett's back trouble may have started Thursday in the Denver game.

Kidd says: ''He's about being a competitor. He wanted to play (against Denver) and he did, so tonight he'll have a night off.''

Garnett also missed the Nets' 110-103 loss at the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 16 due to a sprained right ankle.

He is averaging 6.7 points and 6.7 minutes in 49 games.
