Free agent J.J. Barea 'leaning toward' deal with Miami Heat

Hey, Miami Heat fans! Remember J.J. Barea, the small-ish point guard who was attached to Dirk Nowitzki in the pick and roll when the Dallas Mavericks beat the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals?

Of course you do! He probably lives in your nightmares. Now, however, there's a chance you'll be able to see him 82 times a year, as David Aldridge reports that the Mavericks free agent guard is "leaning toward taking a deal with the Heat."

The point guard position is somewhat in flux in Miami, as Mario Chalmers is reportedly on the trading block with the Heat trying to avoid or minimize the luxury tax bill for this season. Barea would fit nicely as a backup to Goran Dragic and as a cog in a faster Miami offense next season.
