Former No. 1 overall pick Elton Brand is retiring after 17 NBA seasons
Elton Brand, the NBA’s No. 1 overall draft pick by the Chicago Bulls in 1999, is ready to call it a career after 17 seasons.
Brand, 37, is in his second stint with the Philadelphia 76ers, but he played in only 17 games, averaging 4.1 points in 13.2 minutes, last season. He made the All-Star Game in 2002 and 2006 but was part of only five teams that made the postseason and was a key contributor on three of those.
